INTRODUCTION
A.P.J. Abdul Kalam was an eminent Indian aerospace scientist who was born on 15 October , 1931 in Rameshwaram. His full name was Abul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam. Though he was born in a middle class family , yet he was bought up with great care and affection. He was emotionally attached with his father , Mr. jainulabdeen and the mother of Ashiamma. He was indebted to his parents who learnt him honesty, discipline and faith in God.

His Family and Religion-
His father had to suffer economic crisis but he managed all essantial and house which was situated at Rameshwaram's Mosque Street. The famous Shiva Temple was situated near his house. Naturally he had listened the stories of Prophet Mohmmad's life and also the Ramayan. His family was thoroughly religious. His father didn't like to miss Namaz and indulged himself to offer the sacred water to the namazis.

His Education-
He completed his graduation in aeronautical engineering from Madras Institute of Technology. He joind the Defence Research and Dovelopment Organization (DRDO) in 1958. He also served in Indian Space Research Organization in 1959 and he become the Project Director of the SLV-lll , which was the first satellite launched and manufactured in India.

Missile Man-
He wanted to produce large number of missiles in India. That is why he is known a "Missile Man" of India. Next achievement of his grand success was Agni, the first intermediate range ballistic missile, launched in 1989. Kalam was nominated by the Hindu Nationalist (Hindutva) NDA even though he was a muslim. His inseparable believe in Hindu- Muslim unity earned him the glory and made him loving to all Indian community.

Politics-
He become the 11th President of India in July, 2002. On July 27, 2015 while he was delivering a lecture at the Indian Institute of Management Shilong, he died of cardiac arrest. He was honoured with various prestigious awards including India's highest civilian honour "Bharat Ratna" in 1917.
